How you will learn

You'll attend daytime classes at the college and complete a work-based placement in a school for at least two days a week. Assessment is through an e-portfolio, which you'll build up over the 35 weeks using evidence from your placement. You'll need a conditional offer in place before starting, which includes references and a suitability check for working in education.

The centre will provide most materials. Barnet and Southgate College Southgate Campus will confirm anything else you need before you start. You will need to arrange your own voluntary placement in a school before the course begins, for a minimum of two days or 12 hours a week. Competent IT skills are required for the e-portfolio.
