Who this course is for

This re-assessment is designed for qualified gas operatives who are renewing their certification to continue working safely and legally with Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) in permanent dwellings. It ensures that tradespeople maintain up-to-date knowledge and practical competence in LPG systems, in line with current industry standards and regulations. The re-assessment can be undertaken up to six months before the expiry of the existing qualification, allowing engineers to stay compliant without any interruption to their work.Who is this for? This course is intended for experienced gas engineers who already hold a valid LPG PD qualification and are approaching the end of their certification period. It is suitable for those who have previously completed the initial LPG PD assessment and need to demonstrate continued competence in LPG installations and servicing within permanent dwellings. Candidates must also hold current qualifications in the relevant natural gas appliances they intend to continue working with under LPG.What’s involved? The re-assessment process includes both theoretical and practical evaluations, focusing on the safe installation, commissioning, and maintenance of LPG appliances and systems. Engineers will be tested on their understanding of LPG characteristics, supply systems, emergency procedures, and relevant safety protocols. The duration of the re-assessment is typically shorter than the initial assessment, reflecting the candidate’s prior experience and existing knowledge. Upon successful completion, operatives will receive renewed certification, allowing them to continue working with LPG in permanent dwellings without disruption.
