About this course

Level 5 HND Business Course. Study online at your own pace, fitting your learning around work and other commitments. This Pearson Edexcel level 5 hnd business qualification is equivalent to the second year of a business degree and takes around two years to complete. You'll study units covering core business disciplines, building the knowledge employers and universities recognise. To start, you'll need a Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject or equivalent industry experience. Prior HNC credits may be accepted through a Recognition of Prior Learning process.

Who this course is for

BTEC Higher Nationals are internationally recognised higher education qualifications at levels 4 and 5 that are equivalent to the first and second years of a university degree. They provide learners with an affordable, vocational route to completing a degree, upskilling or employment. These courses are fully accredited by Pearson.

This course is the ideal choice for you if:

You want an affordable, fast-track, and guaranteed route towards the third and final year of a business-related BA/BSc degree.

You are employed, do not have the time to go to college or university, and, therefore, need a more flexible route up the ladder.

You currently work in a business environment and want to upskill and progress in your role.

For those seeking a course heavily weighted towards marketing, which aligns perfectly with many business/marketing-related top-up degree programmes, you can study the Pearson HNC/D Business (Marketing) pathway.

The qualification is perfect for those currently employed, who require the flexibility of an online learning course with no deadlines and flexible start dates but with the same qualification as you would receive if you attended a college part-time.

You will gain specialist knowledge in:

The consumer’s decision-making process through the use of marketing insights and analytics How organisations use various digital tools and techniques to engage their customers and maintain a competitive advantage The use of the most appropriate methods of promoting a product or service to their target audience - marketing communications The competencies and behaviours required by employers to work in the marketing sector The key principles of marketing, enabling them to develop a marketing plan and to employ elements of the marketing mix to achieve results The dynamic world of the marketing sector and the wealth of exciting career opportunities available to support their decision making in their career choices

Entry requirements

To start an HND (240 credits), the entry requirement is a level 3 qualification in this field or relevant industry experience. Before we can advise whether your application is successful, we may contact you to request further information to ensure that you meet the entry requirements. Where appropriate, learners may need to complete a bridging course(s) before gaining entry onto an HND.

HNC credits will be accepted, you must fill out a Recognition of prior learning form on our website.
