The course covers the knowledge and competencies needed to work effectively in this sector, whether you work independently or supervise others. Who this course is for
This apprenticeship programme is designed for those looking to join the children and young people's workforce and also those already working in the sector either on their own or supervising others, for example, as a Residential Care Worker or Short - break Carer. This apprenticeship consists of learning and qualifications necessary to provide children and young people’s workforce apprentices with the skills and knowledge they need to become competent in their chosen job and improve their employment prospects. The programmes aim to develop an individual’s confidence in their abilities by developing work - related knowledge, skills and understanding.

How you will learn
Learning takes place in your workplace. You'll build a portfolio of evidence drawn from your day-to-day work, showing how you meet the requirements of the Diploma. Assessment includes observation of your practice, professional discussion, and written evidence. An assessor will visit you at work to review your progress and sign off competencies as you demonstrate them.
