About this course

Level 3 Plumbing Course in Blackpool. Evening plumbing classes run at Bispham Campus, part-time over one year. You can fit this level 3 plumbing qualification around your existing work or other commitments. The course covers the skills and knowledge needed to work as a plumber at a higher technical level. You'll have an initial assessment to confirm this is the right level for you. Note that some practical work requires PPE, which you'll need to be able to wear.

Entry requirements

Please note: Where wearing PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is a mandatory requirement of the course, it is the responsibility of the learner to ensure that they are able to wear such equipment. Further information can be obtained at the IAG session which all applicants are invited to or by calling Course Enquiries on 01253 504343.

What you will learn

  • You'll develop advanced knowledge of plumbing systems, including hot and cold water supplies.
  • You'll learn to install and maintain central heating systems.
  • You'll work with sanitation systems and drainage installations.
  • You'll understand the regulations and standards that govern plumbing work in the UK.
  • You'll develop fault-finding and diagnostic skills for plumbing systems.
  • You'll practise safe working methods and correct use of tools and equipment.

How you will learn

Classes are delivered in a classroom and practical workshop setting at Bispham Campus. You'll learn through a mix of taught sessions and hands-on practical work. Assessment includes written tests and practical tasks that demonstrate your skills. Attendance at evening sessions is required throughout the year.

What you will need to bring

The centre will provide most materials. Where PPE is required for practical sessions, you must be able to wear it. Bispham Campus will confirm anything else you need before you start.
