Level 3 Performing and Production Arts Course in Kendal. Classes run at Kendal College Arts and Media Campus, full-time during the day.

The course runs over 35 weeks and focuses on acting, dance, and musical theatre. You can specialise in one discipline or develop skills across all three. Units cover performance technique, production work, and collaborative shows. Entry requires five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English Language and Maths, plus a reference and a successful audition.

You'll finish with a University of the Arts London Diploma in Performing and Production Arts.

Level equivalent qualification.

The Level 3 course will provide you with more advanced skills for Technical Theatre and you will be working on more complex and challenging performances. This course is suitbale for anyone who is wanting to progress onto university, apprenticeships within the industry or employment.

By completing this course, you will achieve a University of Arts London (UAL) Level 3 Diploma in Performing & Production Arts (Theatre & Event Technology).

This is 2 year course and is equivalent to 3 A-Levels and is worth up to 168 UCAS points (Triple Distinction*) or 144 UCAS points (Triple Distinction). UCAS have recently changed the UCAS Tariff from September 2017 so they could include more qualifications. The new Tariff points are lower than the original Tariff points but the value remains the same, as universities will just use lower Tariff numbers in their entry requirements than in previous years.

During the course you will cover key elements of the industry:

  • Production and Stage Management: Learn the intricate skills required to organise performances and events.
  • Working behind the scenes to run a theatrical production or event.
  • Lighting: for Dance, Plays and Musical Theatre performances.
  • Intimate music gigs.
  • Set Design: Create, design and build scenery and staging for a variety of productions.
  • Props: design, create and source props for a variety of productions.
  • Explore skills in mixing a live band and create sound eff

Entry requirements

  • 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English Language & Maths.
  • A reference from your previous school or college.
  • A successful interview.
