About this course

Level 3 Nail Technician Course in Gloucester. Classes run at International Beauty and Hair Academy, part-time during the day over around 5 months. An Advanced Learner Loan is available to cover the course fee, and funding may be available for eligible learners.

This nail technician qualification covers advanced gel and acrylic enhancements, E-file techniques, nail repairs, and creative nail art. You'll build the skills to offer a full range of professional nail services. A Level 2 qualification in nail services or beauty therapy is recommended before you start, or you may be asked to complete a skills test.

You'll finish with a VTCT NVQ Diploma in Nail Services at Level 3.

For nail technicians looking to progress to senior level, and for learners aged 16+ working towards competence as a professional nail technician. Suits those already working in a nail/beauty setting who want to build occupational competence in professional nail enhancement systems.

Entry requirements

A Level 2 qualification in nail services/beauty therapy is recommended, or you may be asked to complete a skills test and interview.

What you will learn

  • You'll apply gel and acrylic nail enhancements to a professional standard.
  • You'll use E-file techniques safely and accurately.
  • You'll carry out nail repairs and maintenance treatments.
  • You'll create advanced nail art designs.
  • You'll consult with clients and plan nail services to meet their needs.

How you will learn

You'll train in a salon environment with hands-on practical sessions. Assessment is through observed practical work and a portfolio of evidence showing your competence. Classes run on Fridays, 9.30am to 2.30pm, in small groups of no more than six to eight learners. You'll work with experienced tutors throughout.
