Level 3 First Aid Course in Bristol. Classes run at South Bristol Skills Academy, part-time over three days during the daytime. Who this course is for

Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work Re-qualification course is a mandatory programme that ensures current First Aiders remain updated and competent. The programme covers the same content as the First Aid at Work course but is run over 2 days and must be completed every 3 years.

Entry requirements

Delegates must hold a valid First Aid at Work certificate or First Aid Re-Qualification certificate.

What you will learn

  • You'll learn how to assess an emergency scene and make it safe.
  • You'll practise CPR and the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED).
  • You'll learn how to manage an unconscious casualty, including the recovery position.
  • You'll learn how to treat bleeding, burns, and wounds.
  • You'll learn how to recognise and respond to shock, heart attacks, and strokes.
  • You'll learn how to manage fractures, sprains, and spinal injuries.
  • You'll learn how to respond to choking in adults and children.

How you will learn

Learning takes place in the classroom over three days of daytime sessions. You'll take part in practical demonstrations and hands-on exercises to practise emergency procedures. Assessment is based on your practical performance and a knowledge-based element. You need to show you can carry out first aid procedures competently under realistic conditions.
