Level 3 Education and Training Course in Winchester. Evening classes run at Peter Symonds College, part-time over 11 weeks. This education and training qualification is the introductory route to teaching adults and young people. Formerly known as PTLLS, it gives you a threshold licence to teach. You'll study the theory and practice of learning, covering roles and responsibilities in education and training, and take part in group discussions, presentations, and micro-teaching sessions. No classroom teaching hours are required before you start. Applicants should have English and maths at Level 2 or GCSE grade C or above, and good ICT skills.

Who this course is for

The Level 3 Award in Education and Training, former PTLLS, is an introductory qualification that will confer a 'threshold license to teach'. There are no teaching hours required for this course. Students will study the theory and practice of learning, taking part in group work and discussions, in addition to carrying out presentations and micro-teaching.

Entry requirements

Applicants should have a good level of English and Maths (Level 2 or GCSE C+) and good ICT skills. A Level 1 or 2 qualification would be helpful but is not mandatory.

Assessment is through written assignments and observed micro-teaching. There are no external exams. No placement teaching hours in a real setting are required for this Award.
