About this course

Level 3 Education and Training Course in Hull. Classes run at Craven Park Training and Enterprise Centre, three hours a week over 16 weeks. This part-time daytime schedule makes it manageable alongside work or other commitments. The course is an introduction to teaching and training. You do not need to be in a teaching role to enrol. You'll explore the roles and responsibilities of educators, inclusive teaching methods, and how to assess learners and give feedback. It is a gateway to further teaching qualifications, not a standalone licence to teach. You need to be 19 or over, and hold a qualification or experience in the subject you want to teach.

Who this course is for

This is an introductory course for people who are skilled and qualified in a work related area and want to learn to teach or train others. Known as a 'Gateway' course, it won't equip you to be a fully qualified teacher or trainer, but it is the first step to accessing higher level courses that will do so.

Entry requirements

You need to be 19 years or over. You should have achieved or be aiming to achieve a qualification at NVQ level 3 and/or have experience in the subject/skill you wish to teach.

What you will learn

  • You'll understand the roles, responsibilities, and professional relationships involved in education and training.

How you will learn

Classes are held in a classroom at Craven Park Training and Enterprise Centre, running three hours a week over 16 weeks. Teaching is tutor-led, covering theory and practical application.
