This education and training qualification gives you the knowledge and practical skills to plan and deliver teaching sessions. You'll explore how people learn, how to design lessons, and how to assess learners effectively. The course runs over 14 weeks. You'll need to be 19 or over to enrol. Ideally you'll hold a Level 3 qualification in the subject you want to teach, and a Level 2 in English and maths is recommended.

The Award in Education and Training is an ideal short course for anyone interested in training in the workplace and within a learning and development sector organisation. This course is a great introduction to the theoretical skills and practical knowledge required to enable you to plan and deliver education and training. This is a 12 week programme delivered in the evening over 3 hours per week.
Entry requirements
This course is available to students aged 19 years and over. Ideally you should have a full level 3 qualification in the subject that you wish to teach in. The Programme Leader will review your prior qualifications and/or experience to ensure you have the potential to achieve the qualification. A level 2 qualification in English and mathematics and an intermediate level of ICT is recommended.
