The course covers interactive design and media, including animation, web design, games design, concept design, and digital modelling. You'll work through nine units over one year, building practical skills across a broad range of creative disciplines. You'll finish with a Pearson Edexcel 90-credit Diploma in Art and Design.

Who this course is for

The 90-credit diploma gives you a solid understanding of Interactive Design & Media practices, skills and techniques such as animation, web design, games design, concept design and digital modeling. The course is designed mainly for school leavers who have experience of either Art & Design, Media or Computing at GCSE level, as well as having a passion and desire to explore the diverse subject area that is covered by Interactive Design. The 90 Credit Diploma consists of 9 units equalling 90 Credits. These will be delivered through the year and will carry over into the Extended Diploma if you choose progress. The course is a 2-year programme, with the option of opting out after completing 1 year. The overall equivalence of a 90 Credit Diploma is that of 3 AS Levels. Anyone who is 16 or 17 at the start of the 90 Credit Diploma is able to progress onto the second year (Extended Diploma) for free, but fees will apply for those who will be 19+.--This course is part of a wider study programme, which includes a tutorial and personal development element, work experience opportunities through outside set projects and design challenges, development of English and Maths Skills through embedded activities.

Entry requirements

5 GCSEs at grade C or above which must include English and/or Maths or equivalent (L2 Functional Skills) or NVQ 2 or Level 2 Diploma at Merit grade with ideally GCSE English and/or Maths at minimum Grade C or equivalent (L2 Functional Skills).
