This Pearson Edexcel BTEC covers biomedical science and forensic science across 34 weeks of study. You'll combine practical laboratory work with academic study, and the course includes talks from industry professionals and visits to scientific workplaces. It develops the analytical and technical skills needed to work across a range of scientific industries. After one year you can exit with a Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Applied Science. The full two-year programme is equivalent to three A Levels.

You'll finish with a BTEC National Extended Diploma in Applied Science.

How you will learn

A work placement of at least one week (35 hours) is required for learners aged 16 to 18 years old.
