Level 3 Adult Care Course. Work-based training at your workplace. You learn while working in a paid or voluntary role in a health or adult care setting, building competence through the work you do every day. The course covers the knowledge and skills needed across a range of adult care roles, from supporting daily living to safeguarding and person-centred care. It typically takes 12 months to complete. This level 3 adult care qualification links directly to the Adult Care Worker and Healthcare Support Worker apprenticeship standards.

The Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care (RQF) is suitable for learners working in a wide range of roles in a health and adult care settings. The qualification develops competence therefore learners must be in paid or voluntary work to enable assessment to take place.

Assessment takes place in your workplace. A trained assessor will observe you carrying out your role and review evidence of your practice. You'll also complete written or knowledge-based assessments to demonstrate your understanding. Because competence is assessed on the job, you must be in a paid or voluntary care role throughout the course.
