  • You'll use and maintain carpentry hand tools and power tools safely.
  • You'll apply health and safety practices relevant to construction sites.
  • You'll read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • You'll work to tolerances and quality standards expected in the trade.

How you will learn

You'll learn through practical, hands-on sessions in the classroom and workshop, building skills directly on carpentry tasks. Assessment combines practical observations, where an assessor watches you carry out real carpentry work, with written or knowledge-based tests covering underpinning theory. You'll build a portfolio of evidence as you progress through the course.
