You'll learn how to set out and form structural carcassing on site.
You'll learn how to install first fix components, including floor joists, stud walls, and roof structures.
You'll learn how to install second fix components, including doors, frames, and skirting.
You'll learn how to use and maintain carpentry hand tools and power tools safely.
You'll learn how to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
You'll learn how to work safely and follow site health and safety requirements.
How you will learn
You'll learn through practical, hands-on sessions in a workshop environment alongside classroom teaching. Assessment combines practical observations, where an assessor watches you carry out carpentry tasks to industry standards, with knowledge-based tests. You'll build a portfolio of evidence as you progress through the course.
