How you will learn

Learning is both theory and practical, delivered on-site at Derby College Broomfield Hall Campus. Where next

Jobs you could do

  • Agricultural sprayer operator: applying pesticides to field crops on farms.
  • Farm worker: supporting crop protection and machinery operations.
  • Groundskeeper or greenkeeper: managing land using approved pesticide methods.
  • Horticultural technician: working with pesticide application in commercial growing.
  • Countryside or estate worker: maintaining land in line with pesticide regulations.

What you could study next

After completing the safe application of pesticides using self-propelled, mounted or trailed horizontal boom sprayers (PA2) qualification, you could work toward other NPTC pesticide modules, such as PA6 (hand-held and pedestrian-controlled equipment) or PA4 (broadcast and spot treatment).
