Level 2 Safe Application of Pesticides Using Pedestrian Handheld Equipment (PA6) Course in Ilkeston. Classes run at Derby College Broomfield Hall Campus, part-time during the day. The course runs over one week and prepares you for the NPTC Certificate of Competence in the Safe Use of Pesticides. You must have passed your PA1 Foundation module before taking the PA6 assessment. The minimum age is 16 years old. You'll cover legislation, environmental assessment, reading product information, preparing equipment, installing pesticide plugs, and post-operational procedures.

Who this course is for

Entry requirements

You must have passed your PA1 Foundation module before taking the PA6 assessment.The minimum age for candidates is 16 years.

  • You'll read and interpret product information and safety data for pesticide products.

How you will learn

Learning is both theory and practical, delivered on-site at Derby College Broomfield Hall Campus. You'll cover classroom-based knowledge sessions alongside hands-on practical work. Assessment takes place on a separate day and includes a practical element. The full assessment is arranged in addition to the one-week course.

  • Spray suit
  • Rubber gloves approved for pesticide use
  • Writing materials
