What you will learn
You'll identify the main types of mobile elevated work platform and their uses.
You'll explain the legal responsibilities of an MEWP operator.
You'll carry out pre-use checks on a mobile elevated work platform.
You'll demonstrate safe positioning and set-up on different surfaces and gradients.
You'll operate an MEWP safely at height in line with current regulations.
You'll recognise hazards and apply safe working procedures to control risk.
You'll follow correct procedures for emergency situations and rescue.
How you will learn
Training is classroom based with practical hands-on operation of mobile elevated work platforms. You'll be assessed through a written or online theory test and a practical assessment of your ability to operate the equipment safely. Both elements must be passed to achieve the City and Guilds Award.
