Level 2 Hairdressing Course in Altrincham. Classes run at Trafford and Stockport College Altrincham Campus, full-time during the day. This is a two-year hairdressing qualification covering the core skills you need to work in a salon. You'll need four GCSEs at Grade 3 or above, including maths and/or English, to be considered for a place. The course covers cutting, colouring, styling, and client care. It leads to the City and Guilds Level 2 hairdressing certificate, recognised by employers across the industry.

You'll develop colouring and lightening skills, including tinting and highlighting.
You'll practise shampooing, conditioning, and scalp treatments.
You'll learn how to consult with clients and assess their hair and scalp.
You'll study the science of hair and skin to understand how products work.
You'll develop salon hygiene, health and safety, and professional conduct.
How you will learn
You'll learn through practical sessions in a salon environment at the college, alongside classroom-based theory. Assessment includes practical observations, where an assessor watches you carry out hairdressing tasks, and written or online tests covering underpinning knowledge. You'll build a portfolio of evidence as you progress through the course.
