Level 2 Gardening Safe Use of Mowers Course in Ilkeston. Classes run at Derby College Broomfield Hall Campus. The course runs over one week, with around six hours of training delivered on site. Who this course is for

This can be a one-day or two-day course and aims to prepare participants for the NPTC Certificate of Competence in the Use of Mowers. The course also includes assessment, to be arranged on a separate day.Candidates can choose to do pedestrian or ride-on mowers or both. If both are chosen, then two bookings and additional fees are required. However, this can be discussed prior to enrolment.

Entry requirements

The minimum age for a candidate taking this course is 16 years. You should preferably have knowledge of basic use of machinery.

Assessment is a separate practical session lasting approximately two hours, organised by NPTC. You'll need to bring steel toe-capped boots or wellingtons, a boiler suit, and writing materials on the day.
