About this course

Level 2 Care Course in Hackney. Classes run at Nextstep Training. This is a full-time daytime course, running over 12 months. You'll need to be employed in a health and social care setting in England to enrol, as the training is work-linked. The course covers person-centred care, supporting adults to live independently, and working safely across care settings including residential homes, day centres, and home care.

Who this course is for

The Adult Care Worker Level 2 is for someone who provides frontline care for vulnerable adults within their own homes, day care centres, residential and nursing homes and other healthcare settings. On completion of this 12 month standard, apprentices will demonstrate a range of excellent skills such as helping adults with care and support needs to live as independently and safely as possible, enabling them to have control and choice in their lives which is at the heart of person centred care.

Entry requirements

Eligibility: Be aged 16 years or older, Have been resident in the UK/EU for at least three years prior to commencing their course  - Be employed in a health & social care settings England and have a Contract of Employment  - Not currently enrolled onto any other courses, or another DfE funded FE/HE programme  Learners/employees should be aged 16 or over to undertake the qualification

How you will learn

Learning is classroom based with a full-time daytime timetable. Because this is a work-linked qualification, your learning is supported by your employment in a care setting. Assessment is ongoing and covers both your knowledge and your practical skills in the workplace. You'll be assessed over the 12-month course through a combination of classroom activities and evidence gathered from your work.
