Level 2 An Introduction to Early Years Education and Care Course in Bristol. Classes run at Ashley Down Centre, part-time during the day. The course runs over 34 weeks and covers working with children from birth to 5 years old. Who this course is for

If you want to work with children from birth to 5 years this course will prepare you to enter the workforce as an assistant in an early years setting. You will be able to develop your knowledge at the same time as applying related skills in a real work environment.

Entry requirements

You will need:----A DBS ( Disclosure and Barring Service) check undertaken by your placement. How you will learn

You'll learn through classroom sessions at Ashley Down Centre, combined with a work placement in an early years setting. Assessment is carried out through a combination of coursework, observations in your placement, and written tasks. You'll need access to a computer and the internet to complete parts of the course. Your placement supervisor will also contribute to your assessment.

What you will need to bring

You'll need to arrange a voluntary or paid work placement with children aged 0 to 5 before you start. A DBS check is required through your placement provider. In some cases Ashley Down Centre can arrange this, but a charge may apply. You'll also need access to a computer and the internet.
