About this course

Level 1 Payroll Course. Study online at your own pace, with no need to travel to a centre. All materials and activities are provided online, so you can fit your learning around your schedule. The course runs over 14 weeks and covers computerised payroll from scratch, with no previous experience needed. You will need a laptop with a suitable processor, memory, and disk space to access the course materials. It is open to learners in the York and North Yorkshire area.

Who this course is for

This course is for anyone with an interest in computerised payroll with no previous experience. All course materials and activities are provided online as a self-study course. you will need a laptop to access them. Mimimum hardware Processor speed 2Ghz processor or higher.RAM (memory) 2 gigabytes (GB) or 4GB RAM if running a 64-bit operating system. Free disk space 5GB of free disk space.Screen resolution Between 1024 x 768 and 1920 x 1080 - this applies to 4k and hi-res monitors. Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6 or higher. This is included with the Sage 50 Accounts installer and is installed along with the software if .NET 4.6 or higher isn't already installed. Network users only 1Gbps network speed (100 Mbps minimum Can lead to entry level jobs working in payroll roles or to further study at Level Two).

This course is funded for learners in the York and North Yorkshire area. If you live outside of this area, we recommend contacting your local adult education provider.

How you will learn

All learning is delivered online through self-study materials and activities. You work through the course at your own pace over 14 weeks. Assessment is based on the tasks and activities completed online throughout the course. You will need a laptop that meets the minimum hardware requirements to access the materials.

You will need a laptop with a processor speed of 2GHz or higher, at least 2GB of RAM (4GB if running a 64-bit operating system), 5GB of free disk space, a screen resolution between 1024x768 and 1920x1080, and Microsoft .NET installed. York Learning will confirm anything else you need before you start.
