Level 1 Floristry and Horticulture Course in Bristol. Classes run at South Bristol Skills Academy, full-time during the day. This level 1 floristry and horticulture qualification introduces you to the floristry industry and builds your practical design skills over one year. You will complete practical design work and assignments at the centre, and you will need to find work experience in a floristry shop as part of the course. To join, you need three GCSEs at grade E or above including English and Maths, or an equivalent qualification such as an Entry Level 3 course.
Who this course is for
Do you enjoy working with your hands and being outdoors in all weathers? Would you like to develop your skills in growing plants and maintaining gardens, parks and green spaces? This is a College-based course for 16-18 year old studentswho want to develop basic practical skills and knowledge in working with a range of decorative plants, horticultural tools and equipment. It can lead to employment in the horticultural industry, for example in grounds maintenance or as a self-employed gardener.
Entry requirements
The entry requirements for this course are:----3 GCSEs at grade E or above to include English and Maths ( or equivalent)--A good level of physical fitness to carry out digging and other physical tasks related to the industry.----
