About this course

Level 1 Creative and Digital Media Course in Richmond upon Thames. Classes run at Parkshot, part-time on Monday mornings over 10 weeks.

The course focuses on graphic design using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. You'll edit and manipulate images, create flyers, and produce social media content. You'll also learn to research and plan a design project and present your work. Some prior experience with graphic design software is required, and you'll need enough English to follow instructions and join class discussions.

You'll finish with a Level 1 Award in Creative and Digital Media.

Who this course is for

This course will teach you essential skills in image manipulation and production of media incorporating text, shapes and images. You will learn to use Adobe PhotoShop to edit and manipulate images and save in different formats for use in various media. You will learn to use Adobe Illustrator to work with shapes and text to make flyers, social media content and other design projects. This course has a graphic design focus and you will learn to research and plan for a project and present your work. You will gain an OCN level 1 award in Creative and Digital Media.

Entry requirements

To be eligible for this course you must be 19 or over on 31st August prior to the course start date.

You will need to have enough English to understand instructions with some technical vocabulary. You will need to provide material that demonstrates techniques learned. You will need to communicate clearly with the tutor and participate in classroom discussions. Due to the intensity of this qualification-based course, you must have some prior experience in using graphic design software.
