Level 1 British Sign Language Course in Camden. Evening british sign language classes run at City Lit, on Keeley Street. The course runs over 22 weeks, part-time, so you can fit it around work or other commitments. You'll develop the skills to communicate with Deaf people using BSL, covering vocabulary, grammar, and everyday conversation. A year's subscription to Signworld is included in the fee. This is a level 1 british sign language qualification accredited by Signature.

What you will learn
You'll use BSL vocabulary for everyday topics including greetings, family, work, and numbers.
You'll apply BSL grammar and sentence structure in signed conversations.
You'll understand and produce fingerspelling accurately.
You'll hold basic two-way conversations with Deaf and hearing BSL users.
You'll recognise Deaf culture and the role of BSL within the Deaf community.
How you will learn
Classes are face-to-face at City Lit's Keeley Street centre. You'll learn through interactive signed practice, tutor demonstration, and group activities. Assessment for the Signature Level 1 Award includes a formal practical assessment. If you prefer to study without a formal final assessment, the centre can arrange this, and you'll still receive a certificate of attendance.
