Free Teaching Assistant Level 2 Course. Study online. You can work through this course at your own pace, which makes it easier to fit around work, family, or other commitments. Over 12 weeks, you'll cover the skills and knowledge needed to support learning in a school or college setting. Topics include safeguarding, communication, supporting pupils with additional needs, and working within school policies. This is a free teaching assistant course for adults aged 19 and over. Funding eligibility is confirmed at enrolment.
Who this course is for
The qualification is aimed at a range of learners, including young people, mature learners, learners with special educational needs or where English is an additional language, who are thinking of working in a school or college setting.

To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August in the current academic year and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at enrolment stage and may contact
What you will learn
You'll understand the roles and responsibilities of a teaching assistant in a school or college.
You'll learn how to support pupils' learning under the direction of a teacher.
You'll explore safeguarding principles and how to keep children and young people safe.
You'll develop communication skills for working with pupils, staff, and parents.
You'll understand how to support learners with special educational needs or English as an additional language.
You'll learn about school and college policies, including behaviour and inclusion.
You'll understand the importance of professional boundaries and confidentiality in an educational setting.
How you will learn
This is an online course you complete through written assignments and portfolio-based evidence. You'll demonstrate your knowledge by responding to set tasks and scenarios linked to real school and college situations. There are no formal exams. Work is submitted online and assessed by a tutor who will give you feedback throughout the course.
