About this course

Free Teaching Assistant Course Level 1 in Selby. Classes run at Selby Adult Learning and Skills Service, part-time during the day.

This qualification is aimed at a range of learners who are thinking of working in a school setting including: young people, mature learners, learners with special educational needs or where English is an additional language.

To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August in the current academic year and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at enrolment stage and may contact

  • You'll look at professional behaviour and expectations in a school environment.

How you will learn

You'll learn through classroom sessions at Selby Adult Learning and Skills Service. Teaching is delivered face to face, with group discussions and practical activities. Assessment is through short written tasks and assignments completed during the course. There are no formal exams.
