Free Maths Course Entry Level 2 in Stoke-on-Trent. Classes run at Regent College, full-time during the day. This is a free maths course for learners with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). You'll have an initial assessment so the centre can plan individual targets around your learning. The course runs for 38 weeks and focuses on measure, shape and space in everyday situations. You'll develop your own strategies for solving simple maths problems in familiar contexts.

Following assessment learners will work on individual targets as part of their principle qualification: Independent Living Skills. Learners will continue to develop their own strategies for solving simple mathematical problems in familiar contexts and situations.

You'll measure lengths, weights and capacities using everyday units.
You'll recognise and name common 2D and 3D shapes.
You'll understand basic properties of shapes, such as sides and corners.
You'll solve simple problems involving measure in familiar situations.
You'll use your own strategies to work through maths tasks step by step.
You'll apply maths skills to everyday contexts and activities.
How you will learn
You'll learn through classroom-based sessions at Regent College, working on individual targets set after your initial assessment. Tasks and activities are linked to everyday situations so the maths is practical and relevant. Your progress will be assessed through portfolio evidence and observation of your work in class. Your tutor will track your individual targets throughout the course.
