Who this course is for

The UAL Level 4 Professional Diploma in Technical & Production Practice for the Creative Industries has been designed to provide students with the skills, knowledge and understanding necessary to work in the Production Arts industry. The qualification is a one-year fast track into employment and will open up the possibility of further progression within Higher Education. It is suitable for students who have an interest in TV/Film and or Digital Journalism, or a related subject. The course consists of three units throughout the year. Unit 1: Establishing Principles of Technical and Production Practice This unit is designed to provide you with the skills, knowledge and understanding necessary to explore, enhance and sustain their professional development and determine a standard from which all other activities and learning will develop. Unit 2: Applied Professional Practice This unit further develops and refines your professional skill levels by placing them directly within a professional environment and exposing them to the realities of the workplace. You will have the opportunity of applying the technical and production skills acquired from your previous unit and testing them out in a professional context. Unit 3: Professional Development Project This ‘signature’ unit provides you with an opportunity to take control of your own professional development by independently initiating, researching, establishing and completing a production project. Unit 1 and 2 are graded Pass/Fail units that are internally assessed. Unit 3 is graded Pass, Merit, Distinction, Fail and is internally assessed and externally moderated. This unit will determine the overall grade for the overall L4 Professional Diploma Qualification.
