Free Level 3 Vehicle Body Repair Course. Work-based training at your workplace, learning while you earn over 36 months.

You'll develop skills across the full range of vehicle damage repair work. That includes removing and replacing body panels, using body jigging equipment, and welding with modern tools and technology. On-the-job training runs alongside structured assessments, so your learning is grounded in real work from day one. If you don't already hold Level 2 English and Maths, you'll need to achieve that level before your end-point assessment.

You'll finish with an IMI Diploma in Vehicle Accident Repair Body Competence.

Who this course is for

The Vehicle Damage Panel Apprenticeship covers many skills including removing and replacing of body panels to complex tasks including the use of body jigging equipment to welding using the latest technology, tools and equipment. An Apprenticeship is a vocational, work-based programme that demonstrates competence and knowledge. With a combination of on-the-job training and assessments, and training through an approved body, Apprenticeships demonstrate the individual's competence to do a job to a national standard. In addition to the core Apprenticeship requirements, there are separate requirements which include, Maths, English, ICT, Employment Rights and Responsibilities (ERR) and Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS).

Practical and theory aspects of removal and re-fitment of light vehicle body panels. Repairs to body panels. Motor vehicle construction and layout of major vehicle systems and components. Use of measuring instruments required in vehicle body repair. Removal and re-fitting of vehicle components and units. Health and Safety awareness in motor vehicle repair work shop. Working within groups and as an individual. Responsibility for personal actions taken.

Entry requirements

Apprentices without Level 2 English and Maths will need to achieve this level and take the test for level 2 prior to taking their apprenticeship end-point assessment.

The programme ends with an end-point assessment that confirms your competence across all areas of vehicle damage repair.
