About this course

Free Level 3 Teaching Assistant Course in Hammersmith and Fulham. Classes run at Hammersmith & Fulham College, part-time during the day, one year in total. You'll study children and young people's development, safeguarding, and communication, building the knowledge you need to support teachers and pupils in a primary school setting. To join, you'll need to already be working or volunteering in a school for at least two days a week. This is a practical level 3 teaching assistant qualification assessed partly in your workplace.

Entry requirements

You will need:

Supporting Teaching & Learning -Level 2 or Equivalent experience of working in a school A good command of spoken and written English (workingat Level 2 or equivalent)

You must be working/volunteering as a teaching assistant in a schoolfor a minimum of two days per week.

You will alsohave an interviewat enrolment, so we canensure the course is right for you.

How you will learn

You'll attend classroom sessions three hours a week at Hammersmith & Fulham College, with access to computers for project and self-study work. An assessor will visit you in your school placement to observe your interactions with children and staff and discuss how you approach your role. You'll also build a portfolio of evidence from your workplace activities to demonstrate what you've learned.
