About this course

Free BTEC National Diploma in Sport in Kenilworth. Classes run at Kenilworth School, full-time over two years.

The course covers sport science, anatomy and physiology, fitness training, sports psychology, and coaching principles. You'll study through a mix of coursework and external exams. Four units make up the qualification: two are assessed by exam and two by coursework.

You'll need five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English and maths. A grade 4 in Sport is required if you studied it at Level 2. You'll finish with a Pearson Edexcel BTEC National Diploma in Sport.

Who this course is for

This course is for students who want to continue studying Art and design after GCSE. You'll already be familiar with some of the skills and techniques, but the A level will give you the chance to study in more depth and develop your own particular artistic strengths and interests. It will suit you if you are creative and enjoy combining theory with lots of practical work. Even if you aren't aiming for a career in art and design, this course will give you a set of transferable skills including creativity, communication and the ability to work independently which can be useful in a range of careers.
