Free Level 3 Sport and Physical Activity Course in Milton Keynes. Classes run at Walton High, full-time over two years.

You'll study a broad range of sport-related topics, from sports coaching and gym management to the science behind physical activity. The course builds practical skills in specialist areas alongside the knowledge needed to work or study further in sport. You'll need six GCSE grades 4 to 9 or equivalent Level 2 passes to join. If you don't yet have a grade 4 in GCSE English Language or Maths, you'll retake those alongside the course.

You'll finish with an OCR Cambridge Technical Extended Certificate in Sport and Physical Activity.

Who this course is for

This course teaches students the knowledge required to pursue a career in sport. Students will also develop the skills for a range of sport-related topics from sports coaching to gym management. Students can use this qualification to enter the sport industry or choose to study sport at university or alongside a variety of joint honours degrees alongside journalism, media and business. Practical skills are developed in specialist areas and students learn about the other factors that contribute to improving performance.

Entry requirements

Six 9 - 4 GCSE/L2 Pass grades or above at BTEC/CTEC, preferably with a Grade 4 or above in GCSE English Language and/or Maths. Students who do not have a Grade 4 in English Language or Maths will be required to retake these qualifications.

Some units are assessed by your centre and others by external OCR exams. You'll build a portfolio of evidence alongside sitting formal assessments throughout the two years.
