About this course

Who this course is for

This course is for people aged 19 or over who would like to develop skills in relating to pupil welfare, care, behaviour and learning. It's a work-based qualification so you'll need to be employed, volunteering or on placement and working in a supporting role with children or young people in a school or similar institution.

Entry requirements

You are required to have language and literacy skills, at least GCSEs grade 4 (C) , to be able to achieve the qualification and have sufficient numeracy skills themselves to in order to support pupils’ learning in this regard.

Because this is a work-based qualification, your day-to-day role in school forms a core part of your assessment. You'll build a portfolio of evidence showing your skills and knowledge in practice.
