Free Level 3 Paediatric First Aid Course in Ipswich. Classes run at Suffolk New College Suffolk Rural. Daytime sessions run part-time, so you can fit study around other commitments. You'll learn how to respond to emergencies involving babies and children, covering everything from CPR to managing serious injuries and illness. This is the paediatric first aid qualification required in many childcare and early years settings. The course runs over one year.
Who this course is for
Students complete 7 modules in Year 1 and gain valuable skills in at least two different childcare settings. In year 2, students complete the remaining 8 modules and a further two placements in Year 2 to enable students to gain a range of experience of working with children from birth to 7 years. The achievement of this qualification supports students keen to progress onto University or in becoming Primary School Teachers. In addition, many of our students secure employment from one of the placements they have attended during the course. Students also have the opportunity to achieve a Pediatric First Aid, and Level 3 SENCO qualifications.

You'll learn how to use an AED (defibrillator) safely.
How you will learn
You'll learn through classroom-based sessions at Suffolk New College Suffolk Rural. Training includes practical demonstrations and hands-on practice of first aid techniques. Assessment is through practical observation, where an assessor confirms you can carry out first aid procedures correctly. There may also be a short written or verbal knowledge check. You must demonstrate competence in all required skills to pass.
