About this course

Free Level 3 Health and Social Care Course in Yarm. Classes run at Conyers School. To be considered, you'll need four GCSE grade 4s or above, including grade 4 or better in Maths or English. Over two years of full-time daytime health and social care classes, you'll study how care services are organised, human development across the lifespan, and the values that underpin effective care work. Who this course is for

What is Health & Social Care? You will have the opportunity to study a wide range of topical issues from an ever changing and developing world of care service provision. This will include gaining an insight into how individual care & support needs are met, considering the human lifespan and factors that affect development whilst having the opportunity to gain real life work experience.

Entry requirements

If you achieve four “4” grades or above at GCSE (including a grade 4 or better in Maths or English) you will be considered for the BTEC extended diploma course.

How you will learn

The Pearson Edexcel BTEC Extended Diploma is assessed through a combination of internally assessed assignments and externally assessed units. Assignments are based on real-world scenarios and submitted throughout the course. Some units are assessed by written examinations set and marked by Pearson. Classroom sessions cover theory, case studies, and practical application. Work experience placements form a structured part of the programme.
