Free Level 3 Health and Social Care Course in Torquay. Classes run at St Cuthbert Mayne School. Entry requires five GCSEs at grades 4 to 9. This full-time, daytime health and social care qualification takes 18 months and covers six mandatory units developed with universities and employers in the sector. It carries the same UCAS points as two A Levels, so it works as a route into higher education as well as employment in care.

The BTEC National Diploma is assessed through a mix of internally assessed assignments and externally set examinations. Classroom sessions cover the six mandatory units. Assignments are marked by the school and moderated by Pearson Edexcel. Some units are assessed under timed conditions. You'll build a portfolio of work across the course.
