About this course

Free GCE A Level in Psychology Course in Dursley. Classes run at Rednock School, with full-time daytime study over two years. You'll explore how memory works, why people obey authority, what drives prejudice, and how scientific research methods are applied to questions about the mind and human behaviour. The course involves a lot of data analysis and evaluation of competing theories. No previous psychology study is needed, though you'll be expected to have a grade 6 or above in relevant subjects.

Who this course is for

When someone asks you about your last birthday, how do you retrieve your memory of it from the millions of other events you have stored? Is Depression a genetically inherited disorder or is it to do with life events? Why do we obey some people and not others? Why do groups of people display prejudice against others? Why do adverts use celebrities to sell things to us? Psychology takes an objective, scientific look at these questions with plenty of quantitative data analysis based on experimental and other research methodology.
