Free GCE A Level in Biology in Islington. Classes run at Highbury Fields School Aberdeen Park. Building on your GCSE science knowledge, this two-year full-time daytime course takes you into advanced biology: from cellular processes and genetics to ecology and the principles that govern living systems. You'll develop scientific reasoning, conduct research, and engage with real debates in modern biology. Entry requires an average of five Grade 6s at GCSE, including English and Maths, and Grade 7-7 in Science.
Who this course is for
Biology provides students with a deep understanding of the fundamental concepts and principles that govern life on earth. By building on key concepts acquired at GCSE, students develop a sophisticated understanding of advanced topics and challenge misconceptions. Our students will conduct research to construct their own ideas and arguments, enabling them to engage in productive scientific dialogue and contribute to ongoing discussions about controversial issues in biology and other scientific fields, such as climate change. Practical skills are emphasised at HFS, including experimental design, data analysis, and scientific report writing, with students conducting more complex experiments.
