Free Level 3 Fabrication and Welding Course in Liverpool. Classes run full-time at The City of Liverpool College - Vauxhall Road, five days a week during the day. The course runs for one year and covers engineering principles, health and safety, and a range of welding and fabrication techniques including MIG welding, TIG welding, and sheet metalwork. Entry is usually from a Level 2 equivalent, but experienced and mature students are also welcome to apply. You'll sit online exams for the mandatory units and a mix of written and practical assessments for the optional units.

Who this course is for

Entry to the Level 3 programme is usually via the Level 2 equivalent, but applications are welcome from relevant experienced and mature students. The course consists of two mandatory units and four optional units selected to complete the diploma requirements. The two mandatory units (Unit 301 and Unit 302) are assessed via online examinations set by the awarding body (CGLI). Whilst the optional units are a combination of long written (Unit 304), short written and practical workshop based examinations (Unit 311, Unit 312, Unit 314), again these are set by CGLI. How you will learn

You'll learn through classroom teaching and practical workshop sessions. The two mandatory units (Engineering Health and Safety, and Engineering Principles) are assessed by online examinations set by City and Guilds. The optional units use a mix of long written assessments, short written tests, and practical workshop-based examinations, also set by City and Guilds. Classes run for around 12 hours per week over 35 weeks.
