About this course

Free Level 3 Digital Media Course in East Grinstead. Classes run at Sackville School, full-time over two years.

You'll need five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English, to join. The course covers all stages of media production, from planning and pre-production through to editing and post-production. You'll sit exams for some units and complete practical production work for others, so you'll need to meet deadlines and commit fully to the programme.

You'll finish with an OCR Cambridge Technical Extended Certificate in Digital Media.

Who this course is for

Our Level 3 Cambridge Technicals in Digital Media qualification is a balanced mix between externally assessed units (exams) and practical production units. It allows a practical student to engage in all aspects of media production, from pre-production through to post-production. Theory elements will be given a practical framework to allow learners to see the link behind such work in the practical context.

You must be able to work to tight deadlines and be genuinely committed to spending time outside of your timetabled hours on your productions either planning and researching and filming a project, or hours spent in post-production editing your work.

We have a strong and growing equipment bank of resources such as Canon EOD 100D DSLR cameras, Velbon tripods, dolly, tracking equipment and Sony Vegas Pro17 editing software that enable our students to produce professional quality work.

Students will develop knowledge and skills that are applicable in a wide variety of work situations or on higher education courses. The Cambridge Technical in Digital Media focuses on the skills, knowledge and understanding that todays universities and employers demand.

Be prepared to hit the ground running! No previous camera / editing experience required as you will be taught from scratch.
