Free Level 3 Dementia Care Course. Work-based training at your workplace. You study while you're already working in, or moving into, a health and social care role. Over 12 weeks, you'll build in-depth knowledge of dementia, how it affects people, and the care approaches that make a real difference. To enrol, you'll need to be aged 19 or over, live in the DL or TS postcode area (or within commuting distance of Darlington), and hold at least a Functional Skills English Level 2 qualification or GCSE English grade 4.

This qualification is designed for anyone Interested in working in the health and social care sector. This course is ideal if you wish to develop an in-depth knowledge and understanding of Dementia and the care required for patients, which would support your progression into employment in the health and social care sector
Entry requirements
You must be aged 19+, reside in the Darlington or Teesside postcode areas (DL / TS), or within commuting distance of Darlington, have the right to live and work in the UK and lived in the UK or EU continuously for the previous three years before the start of learning. You must have, or are working towards, at least a Functional Skills English Level 2 qualification or GCSE English grade 4 (old grade C).

How you will learn
Learning takes place in your workplace over 12 weeks. You'll be assessed through written assignments and workbooks that you complete alongside your job role. Assessment is designed to reflect real situations you encounter at work, so your learning is directly relevant to your day-to-day responsibilities. Learning & Skills Darlington will support you throughout.
