Free Level 3 Criminology Course in Saint Helens. Classes run at Cowley International College, full-time over two years.

The course explores crime as both an individual and social phenomenon. You'll study criminal, delinquent and deviant behaviour, and how society responds to crime. Topics include what drives criminal behaviour, how laws are formed, and the investigative techniques used in criminal justice. You'll also build transferable skills in report writing, analytical thinking and time management. You need five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including Maths and English Language, to enrol.

You'll finish with a WJEC Diploma in Criminology at Level 3.

Who this course is for

Criminology is a wide ranging study of crime as both an individual and social phenomenon. Students will develop an in-depth understanding of the complexities of criminal, delinquent and deviant behaviour, as well as society's reaction to crime. The course allows students to develop key transferable skills such as time management, report writing and analytical and critical thinking.

How you will learn

Units 2 and 4 are assessed by a 90-minute examination. Each year, 25% of your grade comes from controlled assessment and 25% from examination. You'll study in the classroom full-time across two years.
