Free Level 3 Creative Media Course in Hereford. Classes run at Hereford College of Arts, full-time over two years.

The course is free if you were 18 or under on 31 August when you started your programme. You'll explore games, film, and animation through hands-on projects. Units cover digital production, interactive media, immersive technologies, and the full creative process from concept to finished work. You'll build skills in industry tools including Adobe Premiere Pro, Blender, and Unreal Engine.

You'll finish with a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production and Technology, awarded by University of the Arts London.

Who this course is for

This brand new course is designed for students who have a keen interest in interactive media, computing, digital and future immersive technologies. We've developed our new digital curriculum in collaboration with employers and digital industry experts. You will be immersed in specialist digital disciplines, supported by expert staff who are also creative technologists and working in the industry.

Entry requirements

Minimum 5 GCSEs at Grade 9-4 (A* - C) or a Merit at Level 2 Diploma. To ensure that you qualify it is highly desirable that you achieve at least a Grade 4/C or above in English and maths. You will be interviewed by the course team.

  • You'll create games using tools such as Unreal Engine and GDevelop.
  • You'll produce animation using Blender and Adobe Animate.
  • You'll work with Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Audition for post-production.
  • You'll design digital content for interactive and immersive media.
  • You'll take projects from initial concept through to finished execution.
  • You'll build a portfolio of practical creative work.

How you will learn

You'll learn through practical, project-based work in the classroom. Teaching focuses on hands-on production across games, film, and animation. You'll be guided by staff who work in the creative industries. Assessment is through coursework and completed projects rather than written exams.
