About this course

Level 3 Creative Media Course in Darlington. Classes run at Darlington College, full-time during the day. It may be free if you're 16 to 18 years old. If you're 19 or over, fees may apply.

This creative media qualification covers professional production techniques and media theory. You'll work with industry-standard tools including Final Cut Pro, Adobe After Effects, and Maya. The course runs for 34 weeks and is equivalent to three A Levels. Units cover camera work, editing, post-production, and the business of film and television.

You'll finish with a University of the Arts London Diploma in Creative Media Production and Technology at Level 3.

Who this course is for

This course gives you the opportunity to gain the skills and knowledge for a range of careers in the film and television industries. You will develop professional production techniques alongside a critical understanding of media theory. Practical projects will be completed using state of the art camera and editing equipment, as well as professional standard post production software such as Final Cut pro, Adobe After Effects and Maya. The extended diploma course is equivalent to 3 A Levels.

Entry requirements

5 GCSEs at grade 4/C or higher including maths or English, or a relevant Level 2 qualification. It is recommended that learners have, or are working towards, a grade 4/ grade C or above in GCSE maths or English.
