About this course

Free Level 3 Counselling Course. Study online, at your own pace, in 15 weeks. This free counselling course is funded through the Adult Skills Free Courses for Jobs scheme. To be eligible, you need to be aged 19 or over, live in England, and be either unemployed or earning below £25,000 a year. If you are aged 19 to 23 years old, you may also qualify if your prior attainment is below Level 3. You will study counselling theories, practical techniques, and self-reflection skills. The course builds the foundations for those considering accredited counsellor status.

Who this course is for

Our Counselling Skills free online course will provide you with in-depth knowledge and develop your counselling skills in everyday life and work to assist individuals in a meaningful way. You will learn about the effective use of counselling skills, techniques to assist people, manage interactions, self-reflection, feedback, and guidance. You will develop your knowledge of counselling theories and give you the foundations if looking to gain accredited counsellor status.

Entry requirements

Aged 19+ as of 31st August 2024. Currently live in England and lived in the EU for 3 years. Funded Via the Adult Skills Funded Free Courses for Jobs. You must be either unemployed or in employment but earning below the low wage threshold of £25,000 or are aged 19-23 with a prior attainment below level 3 to be eligible to undertake this free online course.

How you will learn

You study entirely online, working through course materials at a pace that suits you. The course involves around 5 to 10 hours of study per week. Assessment is through online tasks and written work that you complete and submit digitally. There are no classroom sessions or travel required.

CT Skills will confirm anything you need before you start. You will need a device with internet access to study and submit your work.
