This full-time, two-year children's play, learning and development qualification covers child development from birth to age seven, play and learning, and children's physical development across a range of early years settings. A level 3 children's play, learning and development course like this one also supports progression to further or higher education. This course is designed to give students a broad
study of the early years sector and various child care
settings. The course is suitable for students who:
-have an interest in the early years, from birth to 7 years

-want to gain a Level 3 qualification to support further
study in Further Education (FE) or Higher Education
(HE).

and learning and children's physical development,

This 2 year course, equivalent to one A level,
comprises 4 units, 2 of which are internally
assessed and externally moderated and 2 of which
are externally assessed. The course is
designed to be taken as part of a programme of
study that includes other appropriate BTEC
Nationals or A Levels.

How you will learn
The Pearson Edexcel BTEC National is assessed through a combination of internally assessed assignments and externally assessed tasks set by Pearson. You'll complete coursework and practical tasks in the classroom, with some units assessed through written examinations or set tasks marked externally. Your teacher will mark and internally verify your assignments before they are moderated.
