About this course

Free Level 3 BTEC National Extended Certificate in Business Course in Stone. Classes run at Alleyne's Academy, full-time over two years.

You'll study how businesses operate, how they market themselves, and how they manage people and finance. The course covers units in business environment, finance, marketing, and human resources. It's a Pearson Edexcel Level 3 BTEC business qualification, equivalent in size to one A level. You'll need five GCSEs at grades 9 to 4, including English and maths, to join.

You'll finish with a Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate in Business.

Who this course is for

If you are intending to pursue health, fitness or sports-related occupations in the future such as recreation management, sports development, coaching, instructing or teaching, this course is for you. It allows you to explore sport both as a performer and academically and gives you the opportunity to study a work related qualification alongside other level 3 courses such as A levels or other BTEC qualifications. The equivalent of 1 A level, it will also give you transferable skills such as teamwork, leadership and resilience that are useful for a variety of careers and higher education courses.

How you will learn

You'll learn through a mix of classroom lessons, group work, and independent study. Assessment combines externally marked exams and internally assessed assignments. Some units are assessed by coursework and portfolio tasks; others are tested in set examinations. Your teachers will mark assignments and give feedback throughout the two years.
